NTC: Women’s sprint shakeup has Marquardt on top


(June 14, 2016) – The 2016 National Track Calendar (NTC) standings were shaken up, particularly in the women’s sprint ranks, as the calendar neared it's finale at the June 10 Fastest Man on Wheels in Trexlertown, Pa.

Mandy Marquardt (Allentown, Pa./Team Novo Nordisk) jumped to the top of the women’s sprint standings with 24 points thanks to a second-place finish in the women’s keirin at Fastest Man on Wheels. Joe Christiansen (Lyons, Colo.) remains atop the men’s sprint standings with 30 points despite not recording any points last week.
Zachary Kovalcik (Portland, Ore./Black Lodge Cycling) built on his men’s endurance lead with a second-place effort in the points race over the weekend, bringing his total to 52 points. Kate Wilson (Los Angeles, Calif./CPT-CCF Racing Team) remains atop the women’s endurance standings with 42 points.
